So, the party was a definite success... I changed locations and cut down the guest list; which was the best thing I could have done because the whole thing really worked out well.
The camping spot I chose is a great one, and I'll be going there again before someone decides to put houses or something there. We actually had a fire without any problem; we were right by the beach anyway. When we set up our tents... Mine was the most confusing, even though it looked like the rest, but it turned out to be the biggest and I was happy (never put it up before). That turned out to be an advantage for later, even though when I woke up the tent was collapsed, but that's another story ;)
In total, I bought $98 worth of alcohol (2x12 packs of Kokanee, 1x12 of Budweiser which was for everyone else and a 12 pack of Smirnoff Ice for me), but mostly everyone brought something so I had the case of Smirnoff to myself and I still have like 90% of the beer left over.... I ended up drinking 10 of the 12 Ices, so I was happy; if not the most obviously drunk person there...
I wanna talk to someone, but they're not online *tear*
I'll be having a camping party in celebration of my 19th birthday, and holy 3-month old baby jesus... it's really hard to find a place that can accomodate 15 people. I went walking/running through the woods yesterday; trying to find an acceptable location, and only found a semi-small one :(
Although there is one place left, and when it's all set up, it'll be awesome. I've got $200 for alcohol, other people are buying the
food, there'll be music (if I can get a system from someone in time) and possibly a campfire (if I deem it safe to do, if not though I'll buy some lights and have a bbq).
But yeah, I'm quite excited :D
Well, I made it there and back in one piece (although I probably wouldn't have if I stayed longer), and I have pictures! You can check all the pictures and one video out in the Warped Tour '06 collection if you wanted to (I like the collection ability so much more now).
I started feeling like utter garbage at around 3:30 and ended up buying some merchandise and left right after Thursday's set (I didn't take pics for that since I was so out of it). However, the whole day up till that point was pretty damn awesome. I saw a good load of awesome bands, and got to be pretty much upfront for Less Than Jake's set, which was all I really wanted.
I ended up getting possible heat stroke (it's like being drunk without any the happy) and almost getting lost in Vancouver because of it. I found my way back though and got home late last night; so today I'm just going to kick back and work off this sunburn.
It was an awesome day none-the-less though :D
On Tuesday, July 18th, I will be trekking through Vancouver to once again experience epitome of current punk music known as the Warped Tour.
For those who don't know, the Warped Tour was created because of the fact that people have to go to many different shows in different areas in the summer to see their favourite bands. With the Warped Tour, most of those bands can be found at one show that tours around North America, which makes it easier on you and you're wallet :P There are over 60 bands that play at every venue (78 at the Vancouver date) on many different stages, The gates open at 11am and the music doesn't stop pounding till 10pm.
I'll be going for a few bands (Less Than Jake, Crowned King, Motion City Soundtrack, Alexisonfire NOFX, Amber Pacific), but I'll emerge with lots of new music to keep me entertained (and free merch, yay).
I'll get lots of pictures and entertaining stuff for you all.
What's your worst travelling story? Horrible airport experience? Seasickness?
I've had good luck with air travel for the most part, but there was this one time that I was in Amsterdam and realized that my passport had fallen out of my pocket on the plane I had got off of... I rushed back and to my luck, the plane was still connected to the loading area, so I got it and the rest of the trip to Finland for a month was amazing. However, I had the weirdest bowel movement patterns for two weeks from the food; just thought I'd add that little tidbit, because it really was horrid ;)
