By now, all who would be concerned by this post should be up to date; if not, take a look around Apple's official iPhone site.
Simply put, The iPhone is the hot fox every other phone and smartphone wants to be. I've been looking for a *good* replacement for my ever so stalwart Motorola v(something) model; but everything on the market never seemed to work right, or well enough in the right places and smartphones seem to be prone to bugs especially from observing personal experience of others. The people who care have been looking to Apple as the person who would bring the prodigy of mobile phones that would do to the mobile phone industry like what the iPod has done for the music industry. So far, it looks like Apple is going to be able to pull it off.
The simplicity and 'fun' as John Mayer put it at the end of Apple's keynote is what is the best part of this phone; you actually feel like you want to use it. I get sick of trying to accomplish simple tasks on certain smartphones to the point that I just tell people to leave me a message and I'll call them whenever because I don't want to write out emails that are no more intricate than 'hang out at 9?'
My only questions are if Apple has also redefined the surface of it's devices for scratches and if battery life will increase.

Oh yes, you will be mine.
How many computers do you have in your house?

One Tower (1.8Ghz Athlon XP + 512Mb ram + GeForce 2 MX video card)
One Old Tower (800Mhz Duron + 64Mb ram + Nvidia Vanta LT 8Mb video card)
One Mac Mini (1.42Ghz PowerPC G4 + 256Mb ram + ATI 32Mb video card)
One newish laptop (1.6Ghz 64-bit Turion + 512mb ram)
Two really old IBM thinkpads (I haven't looked at the system specs yet since they're still dead to me without network cards)
Short update time.
I reorganized my desk so it's basically a Mac Mini, LCD monitor and an Apple Wireless Keyboard and MacMice mouse. I have a million times more space with the desktop and random clutter out of the way. I also bought a white-board a few weeks ago to write things on. I've never been anywhere near bad with remembering things, so it's just for random quotes and all the small things.
I go for my driver's N test tomorrow (so I can drive without having to have someone with me); wish me luck!
It's about time.
Not enough can be said about this man...
I'll keep it short and simple.
Does anyone have any recommendations for good microphone headsets?
$100 is the price point; maybe a bit more if it's something with a little more pizazz.
Leo, I know you may possibly read this; so if you have an opinion please grace my lonely corner of the internet.
The reason I bring this up is that I have an old mic back from '98 that barely works and my notebook mic will deafen people from the cooling fans before they can even understand me.
I missed the QoTD, so I'll do it myself. This is the story of coming out of the closet as a geek.
I'm not the kind of person who easily associates a label or stereotype to someone who has an interest in whatever you can think of, so I never came to the realization that I was a geek for a pretty long while. However, I already knew my way around the DOS prompt in grade 1 (much to my teacher and parent's discontent). I'm pretty sure I had an attention deficit disorder since I never could dedicate myself to something long enough (like learning a programming language; I really wish I did now actually).
I never considered myself a geek then, but more of an outcast; since school was never all too polite to me. So I stayed in the back and did whatever interested me at the time; never thinking about what other people thought since I knew they didn't care anyway. I had friends though, and when they had computer problems I was the one who had the answers and enjoyed a conversation involving computers and all that surrounds them. Over time, I gradually knew that I would be a geek.
On the day that I was leaving for Finland for a month, I sat down to watch a bit of TV. Nothing was on, so I flipped through channels until I reached the near hundreds, (past all the static) and next to the signal strength channel I saw the intro for a show called The Screen Savers ... I had never seen an actual television show about technology, and I had always wanted one, so my interest was piqued. I learned many things from that show over the years (and had a few laughs... make that many actually),
So yeah, I can be called a geek, but I can primarily be called many other things... a musician, an actor, a preformer, a lover ;)... So I just prefer 'technically-enclined' :P
Vox needs an LJ-cut-like function...
Remember, it's not what you use, it's what gets the job done quicker with the best results.
This is where I sit and blog whenever I have time to actually sit. Incase anyone would wonder, the notebook is a Acer Aspire 5002 with all the good fixin's (such as wifi and supposedly bluetooth, but I have nothing to try the BT with). I bought it last year and use it as my main computer when I don't need the muscle.
The power cord doesn't reach far enough... So I only get about 2 hours and 1/2 of another, but I enjoy that time very much so.
